SYNOPSIS
Uncle Martin's study of the human race is playing havoc
with Tim's love life: he keeps popping up at the wrong times,
in the wrong places.
To make amends, Martin covers an assignment for Tim and
phones the story into the paper, using Tim's name. It's a
brilliant piece of reporting and "Tim 0'Hara" has gotten a
three hour beat on all the other newspapers. But since Tim's
in the office when Editor Burns receives the call, he knows that
Tim didn't write the story. When he learns who did, he offers
Martin a job. Burns won't take "no" for an answer. He thinks
Tim is consciously keeping Martin from accepting the offer
because he' s jealous of his Uncle' s ability and warns the
young reporter that if there aren't two O'Haras working on the
paper, there won't be any.
So Martin is forced to become a reporter for the Sun, but
from the moment he takes the job, his main objective is
to be fired before embarrassing questions are asked
concerning his "misplaced" application.
In the meantime, the story that Martin broke causes some
problems for the paper and Martin is faced with the problem
of patching up some old wounds.
The resolution of the problem is that Martin assumes the
role of a human punching bag.
