SYNOPSIS
When Omar Keck, meat packing tycoon and inventor of the
square meatball, decides to send an astronaut to our sister planet, he
is unaware that the first man to go to Mars will turn out to be a
Martian. As Uncle Martin points out to Tim, the missile will serve a
double purpose: it will give him a way to get back home and will land
someone who can explain Earthpeople to Martians and, as Tim must
concede, "you Earthpeople can stand plenty of explaining."
When Uncle Martin demonstrates his knowledge of interplanetary
navigation and his athletic prowess he becomes the obvious choice
for the astronaut. On the eve of the takeoff, Tim leaves a taped article
on his editor's desk which reveals that astronaut Martin O'Hara is
actually a man from outer space. When the launching is delayed by
unfavorable weather conditions, Uncle Martin is forced to leave the
missile and rush to the newspaper office to recover the tape before it
is played while he is still on Earth. After a breakneck dash, he and
Tim manage to rescue the tape and race back to the launching pad just
in time to see the missile take off on a successful flight to Mars.
But, unfortunately, without astronaut Uncle Martin!
