SYNOPSIS

During a test flight in the nearby hills, Martin's spaceship breaks
down. Martin hides the ship in the underbrush while he repairs the
parts at home. Just as he is about to bring the ship back in, Mrs.
Brown's relatives arrive for a visit - her sister, Dulcy, her brother-
in-law, Henry, and her seven-year-old nephew, Stanley. Henry is a dry,
pedantic, realistic, unimaginative man who builds computing machines.
Stanley is a dreamy, imaginative, fanciful little boy. Stanley's
flights of fancy are labeled "lies" by his father who is convinced
there is no room for "make believe" in practical society.

Because he's unable to land with a11 the visitors around
Martin decides to bring his ship in the dead of night. However,
Stanley awakens, sees the ship and joyfully reports to his father that
he saw a Martian and a spaceship!

Stanley is accused of lying, is told in no uncertain terms
that there are no Martians and no spaceships and is punished. Martin
is upset. Stanley was telling the truth. And if he weren't, even if he
had imagined it, a child is entitled to an imagination. While Martin
struggles to come up with something that will teach Henry there is a
difference between imagination and a lie, another problem arises. The
Fire Department is coming to check the premises for Fire Prevention
Week and Martin must get his spaceship out of the garage and away.

Martin decides to kill two birds with one stone - to teach Henry a
lesson and resolve the problam of moving his ship. He arranges for
Henry to be alone in the garden and then buzzes overhead in his
spaceship. Henry sees the ship and is hysterical.
