SYNOPSIS

When visiting a coffee house belonging to Tim's girl friend,
a sudden chemical imbalance accidentally causes a serious malfunction
in Uncle Martin's brain recorder. His playback goes haywire, and in
full view of the coffee house patrons, a song comes pouring out of
him. Powerless to stop it, he covers up by grabbing a guitar, jumping
up on the stage, and pantomiming the singing. He becomes an
instantaneous hit.

Tim's girl, Della, believes it's Martin's natural talent, and
decides she can use him to boost her sagging business. She asks him to
work for her as an entertainer. At first Martin is reluctant to do it,
but his popularity with the public as the "newest sound in folk music"
goes to his head, swells the Martian ego, and pushes him into
egotistical behavior which threatens to expose him as a visitor from
outer space.

To bring Martin to his senses Tim causes a complete stoppage
in Martin's playback equipment. But it brings Della to the
edge of financial ruin, because she had invested heavily to
prepare for a special concert starring Martin. Martin suffers
remorse when he finally realizes that his inflated ego is
responsible for bringing disaster to Della. Now that he has
been brought "down to earth" again, he improvises a dangerous
laser device which is successful in restoring his Martian's
brain recorder by electronic shock. He is enabled to go on
once more for the concert, but his playback "voice" has now
become so powerful in volume that it shatters every piece of
glass in the coffee house, breaks out the entire front window,
and makes the entire place a shambles.

The insurance repays Della for her loss, and Martin sadly concludes
that when a Martian's ego swells up, it's bigger than anybody else's
on Earth.
