SYNOPSIS

For the sake of his journal, Martin sets out to experience
"Love at first sight," an emotion they don't have on Mars.
Tim warns him against possible repercussions, but Martin
sees no danger since he's a superior being and will be
in complete control at all times.

After a couple of unsuccessful attempts, Martin is finally
smitten by Peaches, a young lady he sees in the park who
turns out to be a stripteaser. (They don't have those on Mars
either, and Tim is at a loss to explain just what she does.)
Still thinking he's in complete control, Martin convinces Tim to
arrange a meeting with the young lady.

Martin finds Peaches enchanting and "Love at first sight" turns
to love. He floors Tim with the happy news that he's lost control,
intends to propose and wants Tim to be his Best Man. Tim argues
frantically against a mixed marriage but to no avail.

The success or failure of Martin's proposal hinges on one minor
point. Peaches wants to know where he was born. Her penchant
for honesty, and his genuine love for the girl, compel Martin to
make the supreme sacrifice. He admits that he's a Martian.
Of course Peaches can't believe him, and he loses her to an
earth rival.

Martin admits to Tim that he's never given earthmen enough credit.
It takes a real talent to understand earthwomen. And along with
Martin we realize that not even a superior being can trifle with an
emotion.
